CC Wins Freddie Mac Youth Service Grant

Creative Cause wins grant to fund its "Plant Hope" pilot initiative for National and Global Youth Service Day. Sponsored by the Freddie Mac Foundation, Creative Cause was one of fifty one youth-led service projects planned for April 20-22, 2007. "The Plant Hope initiative is creative way for youth to share ways through arts and service on how they are making a difference in their communities," said Tambra Stevenson, founder of Creative Cause.

"With the rise of violence and the mental health toll on families and communities post-Katrina, youth need more creative opportunities to be actively engaged in the communities." On that day, youth will take the "Plant Hope" challenge in team projects and make large and small postcards of hope for their community that will become a part of the 2010 x 2010 goal for the fifth Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Katrina survivors have relocated across America and our goal is to create a 'postcards of hope' by the community for the community showing that we will always remember what Katrina's message to be that change we wish to see. Youth can participate in the "Plant Hope" project by registering online at www.postcardsfromkatrina.com.

More and more...
More and more people are looking to payday loans for help during the current turmoil in the economy. The government has also been making fast payday loans to enormous credit firms that have run their coffers dry. A couple of months ago, the famous Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were given stimulus packages to keep them from drowning financially. The mortgage firms were subject to a hearing by the House Oversight Committee in Washington DC on Tuesday, December 9th. Former executives were grilled by Congress over their corporate strategies which almost led them to a complete destruction of their companies. To bring in cash, the leadership of those companies had invested in the mortgage market. Basically what happened was they bought other people’s debt thinking that would mean instant cash flow, especially when they raised the interest rates on the mortgages that they purchased. The companies that had bought their debt started teetering towards the brink once borrowers, who originally had been lent money by irresponsible lenders, began defaulting. Henry Waxman, the House Oversight Committee Chairman, called this act irresponsible, especially after senior risk managers had questioned the call to make and invest in such loans. The irresponsibility on the part of these large companies is absolutely appalling. Yet it also drives home a universal fact – how well you manage your finances is paramount to maintaining financial health. For sporadic help to prevent such measures from becoming extreme, you can get payday loans quickly at a reasonable rate. Click here to learn more about Fast Payday Loans.
